2015 F250 6.2 gas engine, for the last month. When the key is turned nothing happens at all - no crank, Then couple of days ago she fired right like normal and I went for a drive.
Parked back in driveway and she hasn't cranked over since? New battery, cleaned terminals and replaced key fob battery so far.
Check the connections to the starter.
Is the gear shift lever all the way in Park before trying to crank it?
Try cranking it while in Neutral.
Do you have remote start? If so, does it work ok for strating?
I have tried previously, shifter into neutral and with the remote start fob to no avail. The times she has started has been like normal turn the key, cranked right away.
I live near the Alaskan border in Canada and presently it is so bitter cold and a severe northwind blowing. Times like these I wish I had a garage.
I wonder if tapping on the starter and that works is an indication that the starter is failing and the issue will keep cropping back to the point of complete failure?
Would the solenoid "click" if the starter was seized?
With the forecast of more cold weather and heavy snowfalls, going to have to bite the bullet and have her towed to a service garage.
Why couldn't this have happened in July when I could of have monkeyed with it lol
Thanks for the quick replies.
