Remove old Flathead front mount frame brackets?

Remove old Flathead front mount frame brackets?
Guys,

Those of you that have installed small block Fords, etc...did you have to remove the angled brackets where the Flathead front mounts sat?

In my case I removed the engine mount brackets. I have a sbc not a sbf with a Jag IFS

I removed the old engine mounts and left the angled bracket for more strength. The motor cleared without issue. All I had to do was use a shorter oil filter.

I did yes but am using a bigger Ford engine, still though….makes for more room.

I put a 289 in my 49 and I also removed them for more room.

I removed them on my 49 for clearance for my 500ci Caddy
