Had to change out the taillights on my 2003 f250. Now when I brake the reverse lights come on. I’ve checked for a bad ground and I couldn’t find one. Any ideas?
Jake, it's possible that the wires to the brake lights and reverse lights chafed, wore through their insulation, and are now short-circuiting. It's also remotely possible that your grounding point for your brake lights and reverse lights is corroded, and you're possibly getting current backflow through the reverse light bulbs. I had something similar in an old Saab I owned years ago. The chafed wiring is more likely, though.
Aloha Jake
I have a 2005 f-250 Super Duty 6.8 L Triton H-D edition. I had thought that problem and all it was a chafed wire. I followed the wire until I found the chafe and changed it out everything good now. Hope it works for you Merry Christmas Happy New Year
