Cab corner advice

I am going to repair/replace both of the cab corners behind the cab. I ordered them from Cj Pony. If anyone has any tips, advice, or links to good how to videos I would appreciate it.
Thanks .

Mine did not fit well. took a bunch of cutting and rework to get them right. Patience is the key here.

Hey Trashman,
What year truck are you working on? There is a member here that makes cab corners that
actually work on our trucks but I believe he only does '48 - '52... name is Reamer. I returned the
cab corners I originally ordered from LMC as they were way off. Reamer's fit perfectly.

Good luck over there. Post some pics when you get a chance..

I can tell you they probably won't fit correctly and will need to be massaged and coaxed to fit properly.

Cab corners

I got mine from Reamer. They fitted well with just some minor massaging.

As mentioned, Reamer does some excellent work with the F1 class...if you have an F100 then you will find that it's a crap shoot when you buy cab corners from virtually any vendor that carries them. That said, if you have the welding skills to replace a cab corner then you have the skills to modify them to fit your cab. The biggest complaint that I have with them, and I have installed quite a few, is that the curvature along the bottom of the corner does not always match the OEM panel. If you are replacing both sides then that isn't an issue unless you are a purist...even if you are doing just one side it isn't too big a deal considering the fact that you only see one side at a time anyway.

Thanks for all the advice. This is probably a dumb question but do they overlap, or are they butt welded in?

It's your call but common practice is to butt weld.
Remember...you only need to replace the damaged section, don't feel like you need to weld in the whole repair panel if only a smaller area needs replacing. It took me awhile to get comfortable to taking the shears to a new repair panel.

Take a look at the pics in my albums. I documented most of the work I did on my truck. I had no welding or fab experience when I started. Biggest thing is to go slow and take your time

Always butt weld them. Overlapping will cause problems down the road with expansion and contraction. You can look at Indybeer pics. I have a build thread and have some pics there as well. I started my build with no tools, no skills and no knowledge as well. go slow is the best advise in the world. Oh and enjoy the build.
