The wiper switch on my P100 quit Saturday, got a 4 position switch (Cole Hersee 75212-04-BX) from NAPA today. The new switch has B which is power but the other letters and terminal positions don't match the old switch.I have a Red, a Green and a Black wire going to the wiper motor but I'm not sure what does what. The left over terminals are marked P, H, and L.Can anyone help? I really don't want to let the factory smoke out if I can help it!
Thanks. I had printed the wiring diagram, it matches up. I'm trying to to figure out the high and low speed wires to the motor. The third wire will be easy to figure out.I need to ohm it in the morning, I think the black is a ground and goes to the P terminal.
My truck has an aftermarket, unknown wiper motor and switch as well and figured out this much....
Black wire goes to B= switched battery power
Gray wire goes to P= "park"- meaning power to run the wipers down from where ever they stop toward the cowl by pushing in on the switch; at least that's how my switch works
Red wire goes to H= high speed
White wire goes to L= low speed
My truck doesn't have the optional windshield washer bottle/bag but that would be the "W" on your switch if it's there with whichever wire is left over.
I hope that makes sense and helps.
At least that's how I got my junk to work. lol Good luck!
Thanks dubya. I didn't get back to it today like I planned, Santa hasn;t brought me a garage yet and it was snowing, windy and around 30 today, I decided it can wait till tomorrow! I think I know enough now to be dangerous.
