Quick Question

Good morning everyone. I was wondering if anyone knows how much work is involved in changing over to the dual alternator on the 6.0. Plus if you know all the parts I would need that would be great. I hate having to run out in the middle of a project because I forgot something. Any help would be great, thanks.

Dave

I know that you will need to change one of the A/C lines.
Or at least that is what I was seeing when I was thinking about doing it.

There may be a way around it that I am now aware of.

Not sure what you're planning with the dual alternator swap, but why not invest in a HD high output unit from Neville or DC power? They have some $600+ units that put out major amperage for people looking to upgrade. https://www.dcpowerinc.com/products/..._f-250~le_6-0l

And the monster output :https://www.ficmrepair.com/index.cfm...prod/prd21.htm

On the other note, Sean mentioned the a/c line having to be replaced. I recently did my entire system and one of the low pressure lines (probably the one in the way on your truck) was superseded by the line off the dual system.....I think.

You can research it and confirm.

Good luck

The advantage of a dual system is you always have a spare alternator with you.

Yeah I can see that as an advantage I guess.

Two crappy alternators is not better than one good one.
I pull those dual alternator setups off. Not worth the extra room they take up.
