That sweating gasket will develop into a dripping leak soon
I agree it is rare to have a trans pan gaskets leak now days with the reusable gaskets
Someone may have serviced it and replaced the gasket with cork or rubber?
Buy a new pan for it with a drain plug if you can afford one (or weld a drain plug in your pan)
Yes invest in a 1/4 inch torque wrench
If the gasket has been replaced go get another new expensive one from Ford
That combined with your new drain plug will make your truck much nicer to service
and I don’t think that dripping leak is far off. I checked this morning again. Nothing under the vehicle but one of the bolts has a drip developing on it.
and to stay on topic, if the gasket is reusable with no sealer, I would expect OPs just needs a tightening.
as a last ditch effort before dropping the pan he could put a torq wrench on the bolts and see if it clicks at 80inlb. if so, going beyond 80 likely will do no good . fixing a leak usually isnt as easy as just cranking the bolts down tighter
The OEM gasket is reusable (steel with rubber)
That is why I mentioned it may have been serviced? they rarely leak and the bolts although only torque to a few inch pounds break away torque can be several more pounds
Damn straight tighten it up it you think it has never been serviced
If it has been replaced with cork or rubber and you tighten it more, the leak will probably get worse because you will smash out the gasket
Good luck, no better time for a service and see what gasket you have
Had same thing on my '17. Did drain, filter replacement and fill. Torqued to specs, still leaking... Upon further inspection, turned out oil coolant lines had hairline stress cracks. Replaced them, problem fixed.

thanks! I’ll mention that as well. There’s no active drip like I can see in your picture. But it could be coming from there as well. I’ll check again tomorrow after a drive, and see if there’s any fresh oil. It’s booked in for Wednesday 👌🏽
