03 6.0 problems
I've got a 2003 6.0 that when i start the engine cold it runs great but after about 10 or 15 mins of running it starts running like crap. I dont gt a check engine light but when i run a check it gives me a po284 code cylinder #8. Where do i start in my hunt for the problem? Im about 3000 mils into an oil change. Fuel filter are practically new. Truck has a new ficm about 4000 mils on it. Has a new Hpop with about 8000 mils on it. The truck itself has just over 100,000 k on it.

It's possible number 8 injector is starting to fail. It's also possible that wiring to number 8 is intermittent. It's also possible the FICM is giving up. But, my first step would be to run a compression test on number 8 before looking at all those other possible issues.

It depends if you are willing spend the labor time or the part cost. But first make sure #8 harness plug is secured.
Labor would be flipping the injectors 6 and 8 using new seal kits and see if the issue follows the injector. Part cost would be ~$200 for a Motorcraft rebuilt injector in hole 8.
