Transmission swap
I will be pulling a 30' travel trailer cross country and up the Pacific coast. I definitely need more than 3 gears, and like the 6 spd manual in in commercial Ford's from the 80s and 90s using FT engines.

Kit for the FE to the ZF-5/6 5/6 speed trans like the ones used in the F-150+ to the medium duty trucks, but it has an integral bell housing and uses a hydraulic clutch which would have to be fitted.

F250 min but that is F350 area for pulling a trailer in my book.
If you can find a BW T18 or a NP435 both with the granny first gear as it should be a bolt in with the right bell housing.
Then a Gear Vender over drive for the OD part. I hear once you go over 45 MPH you can split the gear you are in.
If Advance Adapter still sold the Range Splitter OD I would say go with it and the same above transmissions as you can split every gear (8 sp transmission) at any speed.
