Started out that the engine was trying to start and radio would come on while I was in the house with the keys on the mantle. Took the cover off the steering wheel and removed the lock cylinder. Found this piece dangling and the metal clip was touching metal. Looks like it fits behind the PATS assembly. Put it all back and thought the problem was solved. A week or so later, I cranked it one morning and went back in the house to let it warm up, heard a noise and the starter is trying to engage. Also the radio and dash lights go out when the starter kicks in. This lasts for a few seconds and quite but 10-15 seconds does it again. Also, something is draining the battery. Battery was replaced back in October, I've replaced the starter and the solenoid on the firewall, and after these things continued to happen, replaced the ignition switch under the steering column. Now I'm looking at the GEM module, doesn't look like windshield is leaking or any other signs of water but is it possible it's bad?
So now I have the fuse box out and removed the GEM. Didn't appear that any water was going inside the GEM itself but the big harness to the fuse box was wet.
Yes same problem and I guess I thought you had to start a new thread each time.
Uh, no. All conversations related to the same issue or concern should stay in one place, the original thread. Failure to do so +ends up causing confusion and wasted time and effort.
