Hello all! As you can see by the title, I am new here and look forward to getting to know some of you and learn some stuff while I'm at it! I was given a 1978 F-250 4x4 Longbed about a month ago that had been sitting for 11 years. I'm getting ready to start really digging into it soon as I am about to get my license and am wanting to daily my '78. And that is why I joined the forum. Anyway, I'll save all the details on the truck and plans that I have for the rebuild thread.
A little bit about myself, I have been apart of ATLTF.com for about 3 years now. I am heavily involved in modding riding lawn mowers and offroading/rallying them. Murray Widebodies are my favorite lawn tractor to work with for modding, hence my username and two current builds. I'll throw up some pics of my builds and projects here. I also have a 1983 AMC Eagle Wagon I got for $500 about 6 years ago. It was quite the find! However, that is a restoration project for another time.
So I have about 4 years of experience in mechanics, but almost all of it is with small engines. The biggest engines I would work with are twin cylinders. So this is a big step in motors as my truck has a 351. Seems simple enough though. I know with enough research I can get it going good. Anywho, there's some of what I'm into. Time to go fire up a thread for my F-250 now...
Welcome to FTE. There are a few of us that are into making the single lung engines work.
Check out your state chapter. It's quite common to find someone who has a similar truck, or has had the same issues and they are right around the corner!
