I have a $2500 PCO that expires on 1/3/22, and I ordered a new F350 on 12-7. The dealer who I have a long history with and has always been good to me, told me that I needed to take delivery before the PCO expired, essentially rendering it useless. I questioned this as it clearly states “place order by 1/3”. While I was there he called someone at Ford, and they told him I could use it as long as I had a VIN created by 1/3. I’m not sure this is correct, the incentive is to place a new order and I met that requirement. Can you let me know your experience’s/ thoughts on this matter? Thanks
I haven't had a cash offer since the summer, when I wasn't considering a new truck of course. There are many posts on the forum of people getting the dealer to lock in the offer for their order.
Also, you should, and I emphasize the word should have a VIN by 1/3 if you ordered 12/7. But that experience also varies widely. I ordered 11/27 and had a confirmation email within hours. The very next day I got another email with a VIN and build week date. Others have been waiting months with no word from Ford. It all seems to be a crapshoot. Wish I had better news for you but all I have is my own personal experience and the experiences shared by others on these pages.
One thing that may work against you is the truck plant shutdown from 12/23 to 1/17. I don't know if that holds up the paperwork and scheduling end of things or not.
Also, check this link for information on commodities that may be short and holding up certain orders: https://blueovalforums.com/forums/in...-notes/&page=4
From my understanding the date of purchase is the date you placed the order and put money down. So I believe that if you order and put money down before 1/3, you should be good. After all, what else can a buyer possibly do other than purchase a vehicle, and take delivery of a vehicle. And the small print on the PCO does not say you must take delivery by 1/3.

I received PCO (ICI) offer of $3,500 by mail and in my Ford Pass app, also with the "Order by 1/3/2022" stipulation. Called dealer last week to discuss, he called regional Ford rep for clarification. Feedback I received is that order must be placed on or before 1/3/2022. Placed my order on 12/7/2021.
Looks like all is well to receive the $3,500 PCO/ICI, whatever they call it. It seems with all the confusion at Ford with how they run the order/confirmation/scheduling process, they have no clue of W. Edwards Deming, the red bead experiment, Six Sigma, LEAN or much else. I bet they could really streamline and save us all $$$ if they got their act together.
Thank you for the response’s, I think we are all on the same page. This is the 3rd vehicle I have ordered and 1st to have a PCO. Seems I always get them a week after taking delivery, ha. I have never received any email correspondence from Ford on my orders, including this one. The dealer did take my email address.

The sales manager I placed my order with told me there would be no emails coming from ford to confirm my order and /or give me status updates. They would call me when the truck arrived. I then told him that many folks on this forum get confirmations during the process. He had no idea what I was talking about and could not help me. He then asked others in the dealership if they had ever heard of such a thing, and nobody knew what I was talking about. It seems nobody knows whats going on anymore....
But the sales manager DID know what a PCO was. The first salesman I spoke with thought I was talking about a CPO and had never heard of a PCO. I told him I needed to work with somebody more knowledgeable to deal with for my order and he passed me off to his sales manager that didn't know a helluva lot more.

Welcome to the brave new world of no dealer stock and having to special order if you want a truck. Takes some options off the table for the consumer. Like test drives, visiting another dealer to comparison shop similar vehicles on the lot, etc.
It should spell out in the small fine print on your PCO notification whether the offer is for 'take delivery by...' or " order by or take delivery by...' I got a PCO this fall that said ' ....or order by January 3rd'.
It definitely says “place order by 1/3”. The worst part is, I’ve been sitting on this PCO since October. I have been too busy to stop in at the dealership.

This is the first PCO I have been able to use also. Usually get them 1-4 weeks after buying a new truck. Seems like the purchase has always generated them. I think the only reason it worked out this time is due to the F350 I ordered in May that the deal fell apart.
I had the same situation when I ordered my truck - dealer/Ford honored the PCO. My salesman said "thats Fords money not mine" - they still get paid. He actually found another PCO
I didn't know about and was able to apply both. Call Ford marketing.
My dealer was able to lock in the PCO. They have ways of doing it. They can also use a vin of another truck they have on order for the lot to hold the PCO.
I ordered my truck 8-27-21. I received my PCO in mid October for $3500. I didn't receive my VIN until later in November with a build week of 12-20. I took my PCO to my Dealer two weeks ago to make sure it was applied to my truck and was told that unless the truck arrives by 1-3-22 it would not be valid. I pointed out that it says order or take delivery by 1-3-22, and was told again that unless it shows up on or before 1-3-22 that it isn't valid. They were supposed to check with Ford and get back to me but have not heard anything.
This has been an ongoing issue over the years. Getting different answers and different results from different dealers. For every scenario that a dealer says it can't be done(like this one), you can find examples of another dealer making it happen. If one dealer can do it, all can do it.
The PCO says place order by.....they must understand that if an order is placed close to that date, let's just say on the date shown, that there won't be a VIN.

Careful with that one, additional details would be helpful to others who might read this so they don't get the wrong idea. What most refer to as a PCO, ECO, ECR, coupon etc., cannot be combined with another PCO. It can combine with certain other incentives, but not another PCO.
Maybe there was some other incentive, like a custom order rebate or something, but even if you had 3 PCO's in your name only 1 can be applied.
