"Vehicle Network Communication Error" has been displaying on the NAV screen intermittently for the last several weeks. When I'm driving, the screen turns black and displays the error message. None of the screen functions work, and the audio systems are silent. Sometimes it last a few minutes, sometimes a few hours, and then the screen comes back. Sometimes there are several where the screen blacks out and comes back over a few minutes/ hours. It does not seem traceable to any road motion or bumps, and restarting the truck seems to have no effect. I have searched the super duty forum and did not see anything like this. I thought that I would take the problem to the dealer when it failed hard, but it is still intermittent. Has anyone had this problem?
I just got vehicle network communication error display on my screen. I stopped the truck locked it came back a few minutes later and it’s still displaying on my screen.
Yesterday my 2021 F350's screen was black - nothing showed up on it and of course no sound system and had no way to know the temperature setting inside, etc.
This isn't good - not after the vehicle network communication error display on my screen.

The dealership replaced a wire harness that had been routed too close to exhaust and had been melting the wires. The codes they were eventually able to pull led them to SSM 47097:
"2017-2018 F-150 – All Engines – No Crank/No Start, Multiple Illuminated Warning Indicators And/Or DTC’s – Built On Or Before 29-Sep-2017
Some 2017-2018 F-150 vehicles built on or before 29-Sep-2017 may exhibit a no crank/no start, auto-start-stop inoperative, illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) and or powertrain malfunction indicator lamp, transmission shift issues, DTC P061A, U0140, U0401, U0101, U0074 and/or U0037 being set in the PCM, TCM, IPC, FCIM, ABS and/or PSCM.
This may be due to the 15525 transmission wire harness not being properly secured."
Bronco Forum: https://www.broncosportforum.com/for...on-error.3378/ I left my Bronco on the street for 3 days and today when I hit the ignition the engine won’t start and none of the electronics will turn on. I reset the main screen and it has a message that says “vehicle network communication error”. I’ve seen other threads on this site saying to find the Body Control Module on the passengers side but I can’t find it! I would much rather try and fix this issue myself than pay for a tow and have to deal with my dealership. Any suggestions? Thanks!
When this happens hit the power and forward arrow and see if that resets it. There are a few little computers that make up the stereo system, it looks like one of them is having a hard time booting.
Went to take my truck to the dealership for the appointment and it was completely dead. No power. Drained batteries. Had to manually unlock the driver's door and climb into my lifted truck as power steps were dead of course. Got it jump started and drove it to the Ford dealer with check engine light on.
Mechanic did some diagnostics and it turns out there was a loose connection behind the touchscreen. Drained everything. Got it fixed, they charged the batteries. He also completed the Spring Seat Interface Weld (21S31 recall) recall - did the welding - and did another recall (21P19) Reconfigure the RCM with as-built data using FDRS version 30.5.3

mine started doing this too. It’s still under warranty but the dealership is so backed up I had to schedule 2 months out to have them look at it. I’m driving another car because not having gauges etc, I felt it was unsafe to drive and I didn’t know what else might go crazy.
I have a 2019 F-150 XLT 4x4 Super Crew 2.7L 30,000 miles. I have had this show up several times, along with error messages on the digital speedometer screen. Gauges quit working,,turn signals won’t work but truck keeps running fine. Very frustrating. Dangerous in traffic with no turn signals and I don’t know if the brake lights are working. All clears up and everything is fine. Then it will all repeat again later. I’ve tried to video this but it isn’t easy when driving. I’m going to a dealer this week. I’m sick of this.

UPDATE:
I went to my local Ford Dealer today,,showed the service desk my videos, we discussed the problem,he said that they could do some kind of a diagnostic test but it probably wouldn’t show anything because the truck wasn’t doing any of the things mentioned. It would cost over $100.00 for 1 hour and probably no results. He said try to bring it to them when it is acting up. And keep making videos. I can’t believe I am the only one on the planet that is having this problem. Making videos isn’t easy and trying to get it there when it’s doing its crazy stuff isn’t going to be easy either.

I have the same issues. "Vehicle Network Communications Error" on radio and entire dash cluster goes dark causing me to lose blinker function. it happens intermittently and has been coming and going for over 1 year and every single time I bring it in the issue goes away. I've also had my transmission replaced 2 times under warranty due to faulty computer issues causing similar dash cluster issues and performance issues. Did you ever get this resolved?

Most of the time it's a loose connection behind the radio. Occasionally it is the wire harness being damaged.
The PITA is that to diagnose it, it has to be ACTIVELY having the issue. Otherwise you won't be able to tell much of anything.
