The Caprice had a 396 in it, my Galaxie had a 352 2V.
The Galaxie was my dad's and when he bought his new 1972 Ranchero GT he gave the Galaxie to me. It was a nice car when I got it.
It had dual exhaust, chrome wheels and an 8-track stereo. I tend to use up my vehicles.
When dad had it it burned a valve and my brother was working at a machine shop rebuilt Continental industrial heads so I pulled
them and he rebuilt them.
He painted the heads and intake bright lime green and the valve covers and air cleaner bright orange.
For some reason it really pissed my dad off.
I ran that car HARD. For some reason I can't remember why it ended up in the wrecking yard.
Here's my brother with his new 1972 Triumph Bonneville, one of only 200 produced that year with a 5-speed trans.
That was he 1962 VW in the background.
I bought the VW from him when he left on his mission. I gave him $200 for it.
Here it is 6 months after I bought it and it was never in an accident.
I just used it all up.
Back then I had a 1961 VW Transport, a 1963, 1963, 1968 and a 1966 VW Beetle.
Fun cars.

... is it a whole switch, or is it a add on type box with a **** to vary the delay. I found one hanging unopened on a nail in the basement last week, judging by the dust and price sticker, I'd say it's at least 30 years old. It's at least as good as it was then.

That was a long time ago, 1975 at the Los Angeles Playboy Club.
It was always the high point when my friends came to visit from Salt Lake City.
I had to "alter" my new paper driver's license to join because I was only 20 years old at the time.

Its a factory replacement.
I bought a timer and the switch some time ago to convert the old 2-speed to intermittent.
Just last May so its actually only 6 months old.
