On your pos. connection on the alternator. It looks like real tight quarters in there.. I would reroute the red wire so it comes in at the alternator straight from the passenger side inner fender and make sure the boot covers the post so no sparks can fly. If it ends up real tight you might need to glue a piece of rubber to the head outer surface there to protect against arcing or a real secure boot over the lead..

This is what I have been using on close clearance alternators. They make them in red or black with different stud and thread combinations and move the connection from behind the alternator and head.

You wanna know what grinds my gears. I just ordered a bunch of parts a couple weeks ago and when they came in, none had any stickers in the boxes. How am I supposed to promote the brand of stuff I bolt on to my truck. Especially when I pay a lot of money for a part. At least you get a cool car magnet with RA.

Thank you. I will get them taken care of.

Its funny some of the little things that we look forward to.

I'd like to see my truck on one of those magnets but that will never happen.
Too much patina.

This is Brad Lovell and his son who are driver and co-driver of the Amsoil Ford Bronco.
My friend Geof is on their pit crew right now for The King Of The Hammers Race.

Talk about a thread drift.

The top one is not totally seated because I have one of these on the terminal.
It the stator terminal that feeds my electric choke.
I have not yet decided where to splice the wire.
I hate cutting into the factory wire.

I did get the cover to cover the battery terminal.
The harness is not in the same position as it was originally.
The "clock" position is not the same.
Soo much to do.

The "town" I live in has a population of about 85.
My home is at about 6200 ft in elevation.
That explains the forever empty roads !!

I like the fact that you only have to travel 23 miles for a social, etc.

Far enough away to get the truck nicely warmed up, but not far enough to get hungry en route to Steve's. Nice !

I have to be boring, yet again, but recently you said you weren't feeling great.

Have you ever had your vitamin D levels tested ?, and I would bet $$$$$$'s that your level is low.

The benefits of vitamin D to the immune system has been beat to death, but I've since learned about the benefits to sepsis, and more importantly, in your case, beneficial against cancer.

If you're curious, and wanna go for another drive (), pop down to Richfield, or wherever has a drug store, and get yourself some vitamin D3 supplements, enough for 4,000iu per day for one month, as a starter. Or not.

Ok, I have to ask a dumb question.

In your second video, is it me, or did the hood lift up on its own, and then close on its own, in sync with the deer ?

Talk about coincidence, or a deer having a guardian angel, but that was freaky weird to say the least. Cool though.

I love living out in a very rural area.
I get enough of a big city when I go to SLC for my doctor appointments.
I actually look forward to my doctor appointment. Last count I've had over 120 of them.
The Huntsman Cancer Institute is such an amazing place and its filled with Angels.
I moved away from there 14 years ago and hate going back other than to see good friends.
And I always ask them the same thing, "when are you going to get the hell out of here??

The guy on the left is my good friend Bryan, 1st grade 1960. Sheila in the middle and me on the right.
I was a damn cute kid.

The guy on the left is my good friend Bryan, 1/10/2024. And yep, that's me on the right. WTH happened??
I go a day early for my doctor appointments and stay with Bryan and his wife Gel.
Gel is Greek and a fabulous cook.
Bryan retired from SLC Police, he was a Vice Sargent when he retired.
Worked and taught SWAT for 15 years.
He is such a good person and a great friend.

I have no idea if I've ever had my vitamin D checked.
I do take a multi-vitamin for us old men though.
I will add it to my grocery list. Thank you.

Yep, I forgot to latch the hood after checking the oil during my pre-run inspection.
My boss asked me why I didn't react when it first opened up and I told him I had to wait to see what happened before I could react.
And, I thought it was hilarious.

I am feeling a lot better now, other than my shoulder.
I wasn't sure if I had the China Virus, bronchitis or I was on my death bed.
It was only really bad for one day. Then I got better.
I obviously did something Saturday night at work that I shouldn't have done.

I had to enlarge the bolt hole on my new to me two hooks.
I went to Home /depot to buy a 9/16 cobalt drill bit, and all I could find was a Milwaukie titanium drill bit.
I've bought cobalt bits there in the past.
"Hey Joe, (he works in the electrical dept) are these titanium drill bits as hard and as good as cobalt bits??"
Joe replied, "I have no idea and no one else that works here does either.
Right now we only have two young girls working tools and I seriously doubt that they even know what a drill bit it"

What is the world coming to?
I just figured for $30 it must be close or the same.

Well I have them installed, for now.
That bolt shout keep the hook from pivoting when pulling.
I'll wait until Geof gets home from the races and see what he thinks.
Easy peasy to hook a chain to and there's plenty of room between the hook and spring to use my recovery strap.

Its always bugged me that people would just hook a chain to this crossmember.
It bothers me that mine's all bent up.

Rich, thank you for sharing all the pictures of different tow hooks.
I didn't know it at the time but these are exactly what I wanted.

Love the 1960 picture. I started 1st grade fall 1960 too, but was in third grade after lunch, chairs were moved and kids line up, and boys asked girls to square dance. I'd have asked Sheila ... if I hadn't already asked Barbara or Joan. Joan and I and her twin brother shared a birthday every year (and still do), and Barbara was just my cup of tea (cutest brunette you ever saw, like Penny in "Sky King" but in miniature) ... until her folks moved away a few years later.
The Huntsman Cancer Institute is such an amazing place and its filled with Angels.
Might near exact how I would describe UVA and ECCC.

This is why I never danced as a young kid.

Sheila was cute all the way thru HS.
