I called every motorcycle dealership within a 150 mile radius looking for a 50cc 4 wheeler for my 5 year old son, I finally found one in Birmingham AL, a little over a 2 hour drive one way. The wife and I took off after work on Friday and picked it up. I guess thats what I get for waiting so long to get a big ticket item. It is now safely stashed in the basement under a tarp till Xmas eve.
I drove the 79 Ford around the yard today, won't do any work on it till spring time. I am mechanic'd out for the rest of the year. The 2003 Mini Cooper I bought to pull behind the motorhome is 90% done and is now very road worthy. I finally fixed the last oil leak on Thursday. It is a totally different car then the one I drove home 4 months ago. We are going to the beach instead of going on a cruise so I had to shift my focus for a while.
It was tough navigating through the narrow cut out path of blow down treess
3000 ft elevation Rich Mountain WMA
These tires may be pricy, but I love the traction they provide on and off road. Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Hybrid MT that doesn't make much noise on pavement.
Got some fire wood and ready for supper.
I saw a large Bob cat to my left. Hunting buck, bear, and hog.
Paulding Forest WMA. Good roads here. 4 wheel drive not necessary.
It's been awhile but can't complain. Betty the Beast has been pulling the Airstream all over North Georgia. Back in the mountains where no one has ever seen an Airstream. Let alone it's sheer length of 31 foot. I've had many ask how I got it into back there that far into the mountains. Mainly because some of the roads recommended four wheel drive vehicles due to steep inclines and rugged conditions. Some four wheel drive vehicles with street tires was spinning and couldn't make the steep climb. I was camped at where it got the steepest. I saw five vehicles that couldn't make the climb. The street tires couldn't get a bite. One Dodge with nice looking mudders had to try twice. I would say due to the loose gravel, All terrains tires did the best. But I believe everyone broke traction and spun a little, at times while climbing.
Just keeping busy around the house and doing some work to our motorhome. Still waiting to see if the guy wants to part with his truck. It belonged to his father so not sure if he really wants to sell it, says he does but I have not heard back from him.
