Diesel Problems - Powerstroke
Findings were no compression on intake #6 and it was also noted that all push rods on the intake side were bent.
We have not yet pursed next step, pulling the cylnder head to see extent of damge. I was just wondering if anyone out there has ever experienced this, and what was cause and end fix.
The engine only has 72,000 miles and has been well maintained. Real bad thing is it just went out of warranty six months ago. Thanks.
Anyway, you will find many very helpful people in each forum. Plus the persons in that forum are more likely to be experienced in your type problem.
In anycase doesn't sound good. If it was a gas engine I would say a valve kissed a piston. If you are lucky, all you got is a bent valve. The question would be why? Valves hitting pistons usually happen only under high RPM, not sure there is such a thing with diesel, or your timing chain broke or slipped, that's kindof bad depending on how much other damage happened.
"all pushrods on intake side" sounds like the chain slipped. But like I implied, I don't know diesels much.
