There is an obvious difference in height between the two, maybe this is a cheap way to lift or lower the front ends a bit.

* my f350 supercab 2wd also has the taller springs

Hello Brian1080.
Will you please measure the height difference between the two coil buckets? Do not need precision ( decimal points or exact fraction) but more like the short bucket is about (fiction number) 8" and the tall bucket is 10"s . This will help us when we are at the jy. Measure from the top of the frame to top of bucket.

Thank you

Those are great pictures - thanks. I have pictures I posted from a long time ago (like 10 years now?!?!) showing and discussing this. I never took a picture like this with the tape on the top of the frame though. I'm saving these.

These pictures also allow you to see or get an idea of how the coils are different for each coil bucket type. The top wind on the taller coil bucket comes across the middle of the coil, and the wind below that is a smaller diameter than the rest of the coils (aside from the very bottom at the mount).
For the shorter coil bucket style the top coil wind is the same diameter as the rest (again, aside from the very bottom).
