Speedometer Help!
Speedometer help! I have a 94 F350 with Speedometer issues. Usuallycwhen this happens I replace the ABS Sensor in the rear end but this time (and 3 sensors later) no luck. It'll work 30 seconds or so then do a little dance which kicks off my cruise. Any suggestions? Thanks!

PSOM is the "computer" for the dash speedo odo etc. Yes the tone ring is the magnet. You might try cleaning it and the sensor of metal shavings and see if it works.

I tried to get a speedometer and a gauge cluster, but nobody in the country has either one. A new Sensor last about three days before it is full of shavings again. How do I access the tone ring? Is there a way I can spray brake cleaner through the hole the sensor goes in to clean it?

I think the tone ring must be the issue if covered in shavings and not getting a signal. The folks on the forum usually get PSOM's from the JY.. Let me look in my files and see if I can find a good video on replacing the tone ring. I don't think a quick squirt contact cleaner would hurt anything in the tone ring. The break cleaner may work with a quick squirt but I'm not sure of any possible consequences with the brake cleaner. If mine and that's all I had I would try a little.

If the metal shavings return in 3 days you have an issue with the bearings and possibly other parts in the rear axle. It's going to take more than a simple tone replacement to fix your problem.
