Here's what I did to access the space behind the back seat in my supercab.
I sewed a length of webbing to the existing short loop on the latch. I think it makes a very elegant solution.
+1 !! I like that. Luckily, I have someone in the household who has some of that webbing and knows how to use it!

That's exactly how I did mine as well. Works great. One of the best MODS.
Here's a YouTube video with another method. You reach back there with a long box wrench and hook it over the side of the mechanism and pull up. This is good for the first time and then you should attach something to it like some of the other posts have mentioned....
