I ordered my truck 8/27 and it arrived 10/25. During that time there was a lot of talk about Adaptive Steering holding up orders. (I didn't order AS obviously) I think things like 5th Wheel prep, spray in bed liner etc can add a few days to your wait.
Is adaptive steering still short supply? I didn’t have it on my 2017, i have it on my 2019 and 2020 and I like it. If it’s going to add months to an order I can skip it.
Your ordering dealer may know as things change. When i ordered mine they still had adaptive steering in king ranch trim. I heard now its in short order..crap who knows.

Looking at the tracking spreadsheet I see a few trucks with AS being built that are Platty's and Lariats, so they may be getting the parts needed.
I had AS on my 2019, but dropped it off my 2022 order to get the truck this year. So far I really don't miss it.
My dealer suggested I get spray-in bed liner done locally (same price as local Line-X) because OEM liner sprayed by GFX could add 6 weeks to the build.
I’m getting ready to trade my 2020 for a platinum F350 diesel 2022.
What options will delay delivery due to short supply or chip issues?
Any of these?
Adaptive Steering
5th wheel prep
The commodity issues list is posted most weeks by Ice-Capades on the Blue Oval Forum. They do change weekly, but AS & 5th Wheel Prep are often included.
It seems to be somewhat fluid and constantly changing. I have read posts like the one above warning of long delays for the spray liner, but then others that said spray in bedliner only added a day or two. I don't understand why the 5th wheel prep would be a delay. Hopefully your dealer can dive a little deeper into actual delays at the time of order.
Thanks for that link.
It seems that 2 items I wanted, 5th Wheel prep kit (53W) and Adaptive steering 60A) are not available. That sucks. I can't do without the 5th wheel prep kit but can do without the AS.
I was also considering a 450. Since 5th Wheel prep is standard on a 450 does that mean that no 450s will be built until they are available?
This is the first I had hear about the fifth wheel prep holding up production. I had heard about the spray in bed liner after I had ordered mine. I ordered my F350 drw on July 27 and picked it up October 27. It had ded liner and fifthwheel prep. If they slowed the build down it was just a few days.
5th wheel prep doesnt seem to be an ongoing constraint like adaptive steering has been. The only thing that has been consistently on constraint is the adaptive steering. Ive read through the whole thread on blue-oval. 5th wheel prep didnt even become constrained until late September. No mention in October, and shows up again in November. Ive also seen trucks being built with it recently.
I decided against adaptive steering after reading about a lot of potential issues with it, high repair cost, and the build constraints on it. I also decided against the spray in liner because of possible build constraints on it and Line-X is a bit cheaper and I can just get it done after the fact. 5th wheel prep for me is mandatory so ill wait, but guessing its not a huge issue.
