Welcome Bob…
What gearbox do you have? The 4 speed non-synchro whines all the time, 3 speed synchro not as much but there’s still some whining.
First thing I’d do is check the oil. There are 2 plugs on the passenger side of the tranny, one to drain, one to fill. Pull the fill plug out and put your finger in, the oil should be right up to the hole.
You talking to me? No, that’s my 17 year old daughter taking the video. First thing she said when she got in for the first time “how do you put it in drive?” LOL.
My new frame off 49 has an aftermarket instrument cluster. I would like to take it back to stock original cluster. I have original but in really rough shape. Where can i get a refurbished one as well as a stock vinyl bench seat assembly. It has new bucket seats in it that i also want to bring it back to stock. Thanks

Bob, welcome to FTE the best Ford truck Forum on the World Wide Web! Does your whine sound like Bob Ingram's whine? That part of the character of the older trucks.
For the instrument cluster and seat check eBay and Facebook marketplace. There are guys that rip out the stock stuff to replace with newer stuff so they are available. Maybe you could trade.

Show us pictures of your truck soon.
Thanks. There are some clusters on ebay been looking at. Any i get will most likely have to be sent out for professional restoration. I’ll check out Facebook too. Ill post some pics soon.
Just throwing this out there. I had a non Ford truck have a terrible transmission whine ONLY on deceleration. It was definitely coming from the trans and loud enough that I thought for sure it needed to come out. I pulled the drain plug and the oil was clean and no metal on the magnet. I checked U-joints and just about everything I could think of. I ended up pulling the trans and opening it up. NOTHING wrong. Turned out to be my pinion angle. It was actually within spec and why I originally ruled it out. However, the whine did start after I installed rear springs with a bit more lift. I had to go to a double cardan joint and been quiet ever since. This was in a 4x4 but the whine was as you are describing and only while coasting. Worth looking at if you can't find a problem with your trans.
Rear gears will whine like that if setup wrong but the sound is at the diff.
