I haven't seen any good pricing on Bilstein 5100's, looks to be the same or higher than other times of the year....I did see some 5160's on sale for $345/pair.
I’d like to get a full set, couldn’t find a source with anything in stock for a while. Now you can get fronts but rears still on back order with Bilstein.

If your looking for the 4600's I ordered the rears from Walmart. Sold & Ships from Walmart and not one of their vendors that sell on their site. Just got them 2 weeks ago 3 days after ordering. They have the fronts too. Here is the link for the rears. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Bilstein-...5?athbdg=L1600. Part number is in the description. Put the part number in the search box for the fronts. Close to the same price as everybody else.
what is the benefit of the 5100? Length, for a leveled truck is the only difference I’ve seen.
Before I went with the 4600's, I did some research and besides the zinc plating and color, most said the only difference was the length being the 5100's were for lifted trucks. According to this guy, the valving is different with the 5100's being firmer. He even gives the valving specs. Don't know where he gets his information or if it is correct. https://toolingfun.com/bilstein-4600...s-differences/
That guy completely lost me when he said "Note that in general, a set of 5100 shocks will lift your vehicle by ~1.5” to 3” depending on your vehicle. This lift comes mainly from the rear pair of 5100s, which features a slightly elongated body to allow height increase."
Complete bull ****. Shocks have ZERO to do with ride height... A set of shocks WILL NOT affect your ride height.
Bilstein 5100's, being a longer shock body, would ALLOW you to run 1-3" of additional SPRING lift(blocks or actual spring pack swap) without hitting their internal bump stops, but the shocks themselves dont provide anything.

I saw that but assumed he just misstated it since he immediately said as you noted, "This lift comes mainly from the rear pair of 5100s, which features a slightly elongated body to ALLOW height increase" He goes on to say "Say, you have a stock height Silverado. Even if you want to slap a pair of 5100s on it, this isn’t even a possibility. They won’t fit – unlike a good set of 4600 shocks like these."
Since most say the shocks are the same except the 5100's plating, color and allowing for lifted trucks, the main take away for me from his article was the difference in valving, hence firmness. I have to assume he got his specs. from Bilstein. I didn't want any additional firmness. The yellow color of the 4600's is not that noticeable and will be even less so once they are covered in road grime.
