I have a 2016 F550 chassis on my Motor Home. It is only a 25' unit. Rear axle loaded weight 12,500#
At 42K miles the overload springs had begun to squeak terribly on the bump stops. The bump stops have very little wear.
The noise started 2,000 miles into a 3,000 mile trip. It is so loud that I would literally stop a few miles before the RV parks to spray them with WD40 to save the embarrassment.
I decided to purchase and install SumoSprings, "Super Silent" Bump Stops. $200 for these pads.
They are installed and I believe they LOUDER than the factory pads.
Does anyone have any clue what is happening here? I can see no reason for this.
Any ideas would definitely be appreciated.
Maybe the manufacturer statement about being quieter isn't truthful? I'd contact them and ask for their input on the situation since their product made the noise worse.
