Forscan for beginner

I have been reading the stickys and post about forscan and have decided to give it a go. I am handy around a vehicle but haven't used one of these in particular. Here is where I am and looking for further guidance prior to plugging in. I am just wanting to do general changes and hope it won't require licensing in forscan? Little things such as bambi mode for the headlights, horn beeping when i exit with the key in my pocket while running, and other items like that. Here's what I have:
-Ordered the OBDlink EX Forscan OBD adaptor on Amazon
-Downloaded my .ab file SPECIFIC to my VIN, saved to computer
-Downloaded Forscan software to desktop
.... what's next? thanks in advance

You will need a license, you can get a free one but it only lasts for a certain length of time. It's been a while & I can't recall. I bought the lifetime license which at the time was $50.
the best, most helpful thing is to look on YouTube for a how to video. There's a bunch of them, then just follow it along & try it out. You've already got everything you need. I was in the exact same spot as you, it's not hard to do. One thing I did do is I wrote down everything I changed, factory value and new value, that way I always know EXACTLY what I did.

As stated below you will need a license to edit modules values. A 2 month license is free. You should be able to complete your changes in that time frame, if not just request another license.
You have done your research the only additional thing I would do is make a readable version of your AsBuilt file.
To do this go to the Ford AsBuilt webpage where you downloaded your AB file. Once you can see the data on the screen instead of hitting the download button, select and copy the module data (top to Bottom). Then open you favorite spreadsheet program, Excel, Sheets etc. and paste the data. You will now be able to read (see) the data blocks. Format to your liking and Save to your ForScan folder. Having a full backup is helpful.

Plenty of members here willing to help out.
