Blown fuse?
but anyway, I was installing a CD player in my '89 B2 and I did not disconnect the battery (duh, I seriously do not know what I was thinking). Anyway, what happened was when I cut the power wires that run into the radio, the head of the wire cutter connected two of them and it sparked, immediately shutting off my interior lights and the beeping when you have your door open with the lights on. It would be really nice if this was located on one fuse. The wires that could have been involved were the illumination wire (runs from the interior light switch), the hot wire from the battery, and the wire that gives electricity only in on or acc. I dont have a wiring diagram so I am not sure where this one comes from, i think probably the ignition. The ground wire wasnt cut yet at this point.
I'll clarify if you need more information, thanks for reading this.
I dont know why I didnt just check my fuses before posting, I found the one that blew. Thanks again. I'm sure I'll have more questions about my car soon.
BTW my new cd player works! That was a big feat for me, becasue it took me 3 hours to find a wiring diagram for the radio, let alone another diagram to see exactly how I could have messed that up.
