Swing out bed boxes

Hello

Can anyone recommend a swing out bed box? I see a few brands all somewhat similarly priced around $199. If you guys have any experience good or bad with this style box or a brand recommendation i would appreciate it.

The Ford and Undercover swing case are exactly the same. I bought the Ford ones because I like the emblem better than the swing case emblem. I find them useful, I started with one then added another one.

I went with one of these vs the ‘Brand Names’ for half the price. Look at both closely.

I saw this one, but wasn't sure if it was inferior. Always been a get what you pay for guy.

I have one. Ford branded, no idea who made it. Not impressed for the money. OK for light tow straps, a couple of hand tools, etc. but nothing heavy. Also a very flimsy plastic latch mechanism that I ended up reconfiguring with metal.
Worth $75-$100 at most to me, not $199.

Same plastic mold and hardware kit as the swing case, or in my case the Ford logo version. I paid $199. I just transferred from the old truck to the new truck and the plastic is broken where the slide rod meets the latch. I like them, they work for me I’ll just get a new one.

I put one in my bed. Love it for shakes, straps, gloves, some small tools, etc. I do agree it cannot handle too much weight. I def would not drop my Hitch in there. I love that it barely takes up any space. Will get a 2nd once i need more storage space

Yes. It mounts to the existing holes in the bed if you buy some bolts, nuts, washers from Home Depot/Lowes. I didn't want to drill any holes in my truck. Watch this (somewhat annoying) video.

Speaking of tool boxes that guy was painful. Only lasted a minute but got the point.

Thanks

We are on our 2nd one (found both on Marketplace). Both were Swing Case and I can attest the 1 we had on our F150 (3 years ago) was made of a plastic more brittle to the one we have today. I agree with others, it does well with tie down straps, towing rope and some tools but I will not be placing my WeighSafe drop hitch in there.

Anyone who had them have thoughts on whether the Ford or Under Cover brands would be strong enough to hold a mini air compressor around 5lbs?

Been interested in these but the price seemed way too high these knock off ones might be good option
