I'm thinking of buying a 97 Ranger advertised as a Splash.
How can I tell if it's really a splash? What was the difference between a regular Ranger and a Splash in 97?
Thanks for the help!
I belive the ranger "splash" has the flare side box (the one where the tops of the wheel wells arent in the bed of the truck. They ususally have a Splash decal on them too. The grill is ususally painted the color of the truck too, instead of the chrome or the plastic grey color. Someone correct me if i'm wrong on any of this.
Definitely stepside box, color key'd bumpers and grill. I think it may or may not have decals proclaiming "SPLASH" - I have seen them both ways but am unsure whether Ford left the stickers off or the owners removed them.
BTW - before you buy the truck, look at available accessories for it, especially the bed (and related; like bumpers and catbacks). I think you will be *un*pleasantly surprised.
