Also use a pair of like 120amp fuses, or fusible links in the wiring.
some people have manually wired these things to run off the fuel shutoff solenoid "hold" power source, so that the grid heaters can only run when the fuel/key is turned on.
since im running a manual pull cable for fuel shutoff, i can't do that.

K thanks jason i hope i don't start a fire that would suck. I keep researching and see how people have done it and find out what will work best for my truck.
well the bad news after running for about 20 min i noticed an oil leak coming out of my turbo. wasn't really planning on getting new one at this point in the build but i guess i don't have a choice now. turns out the seals in the turbo are bad. So I guess i will be getting new turbo. really put the slow down on now. i have another video of the stereo if an you all want me to post. I put 2 tens behind the seat and 2 6's in the doors. didn't really think any one wanted to see that. I can tell you this it sounds awesome. Now i have to figure out why my Tach is not working and my EGT I tracked down to being New Vintage sent me the wrong wiring harness for those gauges. so i guess now i will be putting the front back together on the truck and start working finding some seats for this thing. Oh had a minor fuel leak as you saw in video. Also found a small leak in the power steering but those where all loose connections. still need to get some drivelines make up to check the clutch out. I am going to adding a boost guage and fuel pressure guage here soon. But for now it is saving my pennies for a new turbo. If you all want to know water temp and volt meter all worked. well thats it for now.
You might be able to get away with just rebuilding your turbo for cheap. Wasn't too hard for me. A guy on eBay sells pretty nice kits with all the stuff you need. I'm sure there's YouTube videos too.
just check the vanes and compressor housing for excessive damage.
my cheap used tach ain't working either lol. I'm hoping it's just broke and i didnt fry the sensor when i wired it up.
Ill be there with my trade in hand that we shook on awhile back I promised to let you have my 76 since its so nice.
what exhaust manifold is that ?
My 24v at idle doesnt make enough heat to move egt gauge at idle. i think it starts at 300
it sounds great
Did you do any fuel mods? If so id push a 62mm borge pretty hard. I think thats a hx35 you have if no fuel it will be great with a rebuild kit like mentioned.
Sorry haven't been on in awhile. I don't remember what manifold it was I will check when I get home. I was thinking on the 62 borg turbo but have not done to much research on that yet. I did a little bit of work on truck but have not taken Pic yet. But so u all know I just about have inerteror done sound deadner is all in and got weather stripping and glass put back in driver side door.
Sorry about video next time I get it running I will take another one. When I get home I will show u my cab and how I did it. Still need to find some seats for this thing. Been looking at salvage yards pretty hard. I would like some 40/20/40 seats in it.
I think my next step will be hood and fenders not looking forward to that because of trying to get it lined up will suck. Unless you all have any good tips I am all ears never done this before so we will see how bad it is. Until next time thanks guys u all make this fun
OK here is my plan. Went to my dad's house found a 375 H&H mag 26 inch barrel tapped the end of it put some all thread in the end of barrel and screwed a shifter on. I then drilled out chamber end so it would go over the trans stub shaft then welded a nut on the end and put it in place to check fitting. Found out that in 2nd and 4th it was hitting the transfer case shifter. So I then pulled the transfer case shifters out shortened them by 6 inches. No Pic of that yet but it only hits now in 2nd gear. But that will be an easy fix just have to put a little S bend in shifter. Yes once I get seats put in I will cut down shifter so I don't have some stupid high shifter. Not a dam bull wagon peterbuilt. Lol truck drivers will understand that

Jealus
sorry so late getting back to you but i did put fuel mods went 80 over on injectors bumped up P pump so i am pretty sure a 62 is going to be the direction i am going.
I like that barrel shufter idea! Was it a shot out factory barrel swapped out? I just wouldn't want to use something nice or usable.
to be honest i have no idea if the barrel was any good or not. It was sitting in his shop in a bucket. Yrs back my dad was a gunsmith and had his own shop. so we just hit it with some polishing wheels knocked off the sights and now it is sitting in my truck.
Gunsmithing is a dying art. I wish I could've gotten into that kind of career. I don't believe there's much money in it today though, unless you're among the best.
