Neutral Safety Switch

Neutral Safety Switch

Truck is lunging forward and making a weird noise when I come to a stop in gear. Not consistently doing it. I got these codes from it. Anyone else experienced this?

Your issue is not related to a neutral safety switch. I'll let the diesel guys take it from here.

The Safety switch is only for keeping the truck from starting if you are not in park or neutral.
Clear all codes and try the scan again.

When was the last time you services the transmission? Full fluid exchange with new filter?
Miles on the truck/ transmission?

We need more information.

Ive owned the truck for about 7,000 miles. I haven’t changed the fluid or filter. Truck has 165,000 miles.

also has a mini maxx tuner

And sometimes in reverse with my foot off the brake it will slam almost feeling like I hit something. MPH gauge will jump when having this issue as well. None of it consistently does it

I am not a 6.7 guy but do know a bit about the systems. I do not believe if my memory is correct many good things being said about that tuner. Take it out of the system and run stock. Also how is the fluid. If you do not know the last time with documented records that any services were done it is highly advisable to do all PM's. Even with records I would do them again myself as most say I have trust issues about that stuff.

If the transmission fluid is not clear-ish red it is likely needing changing and contributing to any issues you are having. After it is warmed up preferably wipe the stick on a white paper towel or rag, smell the sample as well any brown coloring or particles or burnt smell needs addressing.

Sounds like it needs to go in for, at least, a transmission check. The combo of a diesel, tuner and 165,000 miles can end up with a bunch of damaged stuff, especially if it doesn't have the supporting mods needed for the tune it was running, or just wasn't maintained correctly. These thing can get expensive real fast, hopefully pulling the tuner is all it takes.
