New to this forum and a search didn’t yield much. I recently purchased a’51 F1 and I am in the process of going through a set of gauges I just acquired. The problem is is that a good many of the odometer #’s are not legible. Does anyone know a good way of restoring them?

Look on eBay for a used speedo head that has legible numbers on the odometer and switch it in.
Just a quick thought though, I was looking on a website called "classygauges" or something very similar to that and saw an odometer head for an old Bronco on there. I wonder how close they are? there would definitely be some parts swapping involved but the gauge assemblies themselves appeared to be the same size. Think it might be worth a try. Also, the gentleman that works/runs the place was less than helpful. His website very clearly states that parts are available if you would like to O/H your own gauges but when I asked him if he would sell me an odometer head he said no. He tried to get me to subscribe to the entire gauge O/H ( somewhere in the order of 500-700$) and that the odometer head was "the easy cosmetic piece" to that whole equation. I could only assume that obtaining the odometer head was relatively easy for him with his network of distributors but at the end of the day he, in spite of what his website states, would not sell me an odometer head that was in good condition. Kinda pissed me off to be honest. Disappointing in the least. Thanks for your reply and best of luck to you.
