Last year driving in a blinding snowstorm, my LED headlights and fogs clogged up so bad we had to stop every 15 mins to clean them off. Like recommendations for some heavy duty amber halogen fogs.
Have looked at KC and others. Thanks!
Interesting point. I had not considered that being a concern. I live in Northern Ontario Canada and we get some pretty nasty snow storms. The LED fog lights only take the top portion of the cutout. Would be nice to have some auxiliary lights in the remainder of the cutout that can connect to an upfitter to be used only as needed. Or someone can develop, market and sell LED light melter devices of some sort. lol...
reminded me of the time in mid alabama, it was so cold that my f350 could not keep the ice from building up on the windshield ,a freaky almost 50 mile area just got hammered with icy rainy crapoallllaaa
we had to finally stop at a rest area and wait it out.
our cargo trailer gained an iceberg on the front cap that late broke off in pieces as we got back in warmer weather
never thought about the led headlights i have now freezing over.
Thank you for reminding me of the LED and snow issue. I was considering switching my oem halogens to oem led. I am moving to Montana soon. I would rather have okay light than no light at all. Ill buy led's for auxiliary lighting.
I was just talking about this the other day as well. I installed Morimoto LED fogs on my truck after last winter (truck didn't come with fogs from the factory) and am waiting for the snow to really fly to see what issues I have. I've already been in cars with LED head lights in the winter that iced over on the highway at night. Not a good feeling seeing your lights get dimmer and dimmer as you drive.
