New Sync 3 Issue

So every time I start the truck now, I get the following display on my display:

Just a blank pop-up screen. It goes away when I tap anywhere on the screen.

Thoughts?

Have you done an update recently? Mine has been getting a pop up at initial start up but it has words, not just a blank pop up like that. Says something about updating, which it is not, and I have press "close".

Try doing a soft reset. which is holding the right arrow and the power button until the screen goes blank the it should come back on.

Try a Master Reset instead of the soft reboot.

Well I tried both a hard and soft reset with no luck. Guess it will be going to the dealer to fix that and replace one of the “sealed” batteries that is leaking.

Follow up with what they say or do. I was going suggest trying an update but really don't see how it would make a difference.

Just tap Settings, then General, scroll to the bottom and tap Master Reset.

If that still doesn’t fix it then you might need a new APIM so a trip to your dealer will be required.

Is your vehicle still under the 3/36K warranty? Do you have a Ford backed ESP?

If the answer is no and if you’re going to need a new APIM, depending on the dealer, expect a price in the range of $500.00 - $800.00 dollars

The beast just rolled over 24,000 miles yesterday so still under bumper-bumper warranty.

What build of Sync does your truck have
ie 3.4.2xxxx

The latest is 3.4.21194. I have had no issues since updating.

I recently did this update via wireless while the truck sat outside of my house. Seemed like it took forever. But it did finally update.

He might be in a 2019, in which case the latest version would be 3.0.20204.

The 450 is indeed a 2019.

When I scan for updates it doesn’t show any available (the truck is connected to my WiFi.

Both your Sync and Navigation are older versions.

My truck does the same, a scan while connected to WiFi never shows any update available when in fact there is. I have read of others experiencing the same.
I have updated twice since 2019 and both times had to go online, input my VIN to check for updates, then download to a USB.
