Does anyone here have Ford Performance Parts M-6582-C460 valve covers? If so, would you post photos of the underside of the flange, and the baffle?
I've got a set of fabricated aluminum valve covers on my 502, and I'm not at all happy with them. The flanges do not mate well to the cylinder heads. Less than half of the gasket is actually pressed between the flanges. I've been through three different type gaskets, and all have leaked at high rpm. Cork and rubber gaskets deform badly on the narrow contact areas, and they pour oil as the gasket compresses over a few days. Currently I have a set of Moroso steel core rubber gaskets, and there's only one tiny spot where one cover seeps. But I fear they will eventually develop bad leaks, because so little of the gasket is actually in contact with the flanges.
