Hello I've got a strange problem which leads to a few questions. 99 350 the turn signals don't work (get this) when it's below 45° out side. I turn the heater on for 15-20 minutes and they start working. The last few days they've also started working erratically sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. I know this sounds like a flasher problem I replaced it a few years ago and had the same problem during the winter. I replaced the multifunction switch awhile back due to high beam problem. My questions are 1) has any of ya'll run into this problem with lower temps or is that just me if you have have you found an expansion-contaction problem? 2) are the turn signal and emergency flashers the same relay? 3) does anyone know for sure the flasher position in the block? Thanks for any help
Sometimes you can isolate a multifunction switch issue by trying the functions on high beam and low beam. Had an F150 that wouldn't activate the windshield washer on low beam but would on high beam or if you were signaling a left turn.
I'd suspect the multifunction switch anyway, an intermittent connection within the switch, but a corroded ground could also act like your symptoms.
Wonder if you have a windshield leak on to the GEM module and warming it up completes the circuit. That's where I would start looking...passenger foot well.

That's what I was also going to suggest, I have cab lights and I found a pinhole leak net to one of the lights, it ran the water down both A pillars causing water to to get into the fuse block and it corroded the majority of the connections in the backside. For me sealing the pinhole in the roof and replacing the fuse block fixed my problem.
Thanks for the replies gentlemen. Don't believe I have a windshield leaking I've known about that problem for years and tried to keep an eye on it. Last night I had part of the dash out and didn't notice any moisture 🤞 i will check again. I wished I still had my alldata system best tool you can have. I'm trying to find power distribution, ground points, theory of operation, just anything that will give me a direction because what I can get to without pulling the dash out i don't find a problem.
