Hi, everyone. New excursion owner here (2005 EB 6.0 4x4). I bought the truck from Copart about two months ago and am slowly working my way through a few "surprises" I've discovered since it showed up in my driveway. I love the convenience of the keypad on the driver's door, but mine doesn't work. I pulled the interior panel to investigate and discovered that it's missing the short ~12" cable that connects the plug on the back of the keypad to the round, 8-pin connector inside the door. I know these keypads are on virtually every ford vehicle since the late 90s so I made a trip to my local Pull-A-Part. No Excursions available, but I did manage to find the proper plugs for each end of the missing cable. The problem is that they have a different number of wires in each plug. Electrical issues definitely aren't my specialty but I think I can make it work if anyone has a wiring diagram they wouldn't mind posting. For what it's worth, I've done tons of searching on this topic and checked the Tech Folder, but the "wiring diagram" link appears to no longer be valid.
On a different note, where do you guys go when you need part numbers and diagrams? Ford's parts website is TERRIBLE!
This PDF has the keypad wiring diagram and the connector face/pinouts for each of the connectors. Be sure to compare the circuit numbers (not the pin numbers) and not just the colors when making your connections.
Awesome. Thank you very much, alloro! The first page of that pdf looks like Greek to me, but I should be able to decipher it with a little help from Google.

To the left of where it says C510 in blue are 5 wires. The number next to each wire (6, 5, 2, 1, 4) are the pin numbers on connector C510.
To the left of where it says C500 in blue are 5 wires. The number next to each wire (2, 6, 1, 3, 7) are the pin numbers on connector C500.
The same pattern holds true for the ground wire coming off the bottom of the keypad assembly
Refer to the included connector C500 and C510 pin faces to determines which pins are which. All in all you will be connecting only 6 of the 8 pins on each of the two connectors, the extra 2 pins are not used.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Happy to report a successful fix! Very much appreciated!
