What year is this?
Wondering if anyone here has a good eye and knows what year this truck might be? I might guess 80s, should have snapped pic of dashboard - it looked older than 90s.
Also, anyone have any good recs on where I might be able to find something like this for purchase?
Thanks
Jake
Former 2011 Ranger owner, but want to move to something more stylish and classic.
Not seeing the grille / hood (Ford badge on grille / letters on hood), door panels / locks (slider locks in door panels or not), that could pin it down a little more.
Someone may be able to tell by the side moldings as they changed through out the years.
Same might be said on the colors used in what years.
Now if you had a VIN it could be de-coded for the year & motor IIRC.
And the cert sticker on the left door post will tell you a lot more besides the month & year.
See you cant tell the year other than 80 to 86 on my truck in this picture
But from the front grille / hood you can tell it is 80 - 82 (letters on hood / no badge on grille)
From the cert sticker on the door post it is a 11/80 making it an 1981 year truck.

1983+ have rounded, bubble-shaped bodies:
As for the paint job, yeah, I guess it looks OK from a distance, but 2 things jump out at me...
1) They painted over the Lariat (or whatever) emblem;
2) It looks like the paint is filling in the gap between the (plastic?) rear window frame molding & the steel cab body. If that window needs to be replaced for some reason and that molding removed to accommodate that, I don't know how well the finished product would look (although it could probably be made better than it is right now, with those parts sealed together with paint).
Just my opinion...
To pick on some more and bolster your opinion, look at the usual suspect rust spots. Front fender behind wheel, cab behind door. Both show signs of dough and go. Rear wheel arches don't stand out in photo but you got to believe they got the same treatment.
They did not remove the plastic clips that hold the side trim on to paint either. Probably just masked everything. Wonder if the side moulding and F150/XLT badging came off or got tape.
Bottom line: If you see a really good looking bullnose, look closer before opening your wallet.
