I have a 2022 F350 with the STX package and all the extras I could add to it, including sync 3 ordered. In my impatience to receive it, I'm preplanning how I'll set it up. Can someone who actually has one tell me where exactly the USB port for the Car play is located. I will have a flip up center console therefore don't think that's where they will put it. I'm trying to figure where I'll mount the iPhone in order to have easy access to the plug, while not being overly obstrusive. I don't realy need the phone in my face since I'll be using the car play, but do wanted mounted so as to see it. Thanks all.
Cannot help with port for certain, but have seen videos of the ports being inside the flip up that contains wireless charger. However, not sure if either of them was the apple play port.
If you do any rural travel you will want to Mount phone as high up as possible so the cell signal and phone gps have best view of the sky.
If you don't want to have to plug the phone in all the time you can use one of these. Got one for my 2021 F250 (my plugs are in the dash under the heater/ac controls). One is a standard USB the other is the smaller plug "B" type (I think it's called a B USB port??). I just plugged it in, followed the instructions and it paired to the phone quick and easy.
I plugged it in, leave it in the truck plugged in and when I get in the truck the phone connects to it and it communicates with the truck's sync system.
It would allow you to mount the phone where ever you want it mounted.

Wouldn't it already be able to stream Wireless? I have an 2021 F150 XLT rental with the small screen, and it will do wireless CarPlay. I don't like it but that is a different story.
As for the USB charging port it should be in the lower center console stack. There are several holders you can get for your phone that will mount to a vent or if you want to go pretty cool look at Pro Clips and see what they offer.
