1994 f250 7.3 idi no turbo. I was pulling my cdr and cdr tube, some of the tube broke off and fell down inside the hole, into what I believe is the valley pan ? I felt around with my finger and could not feel the piece. Any advice ? I have a vac and some tubing I was going to try. Will this cause catastrophic damage if I can’t retrieve it ? Where does that hole lead to ?

 

I would say there's a lot of space inside that part of the engine. I bet it could be there for years and not cause a problem... don't be too worried. If you've done your best to try to get it out that's probably fine. I think the oil return to the pan is a good sized tunnel.

I'm not an expert on these or anything but they are extremely hardy. It probably gets lodged in somewhere and stays there, or else goes down to the oil pan where it can't cause trouble.

not a big issue. it just fell down into the valley and will not cause any harm.
