Just got a basic 2006 F350 flatbed standard cab. Super basic. NO PLACE to keep a can of drink, water bottle, etc. All it has is the nearly useless pull out cup rings that cannot hold bottles, cans or my narrow coffee cup. What kind of simple solutions to have a mini console or to modify the dash to be more useful? Appreciate photos, links if possible. preparing for a long trip and don't want drinks spilling all over the cab
I tell my wife to hold my drink for me. If she says "no", I reach into the back and tell my girlfriend to hold it.
There aren't any options except one of those lame plastic floor cubbies. You can always swap out the bench seat for buckets with the middle console, but don't expect the cup holders to be amazing. They're not even as good as the ones you have now.
My truck has the bucket seats with the jump seat in the middle. When you fold the seat down, there are 2 cup holders on the top of the seat back. Folded down that is. Of course, they barely work with a 30 oz insulated cup.
They are no longer stocked by Ford (10 year limit Ford places on parts they stock) but you might try finding a pick n pull/junkyard and see if anyone have a floor console.
