Sudden Mileage reduction
A few years ago, I put a Swamps IDM into my truck. I followed that with a Wicked Wheel, turbo rebuild kit, upgraded wastegate activator, enlarged (still close to stock) turbo housing, and intake connected to an S&B CAI. I also put in a CNC Fab 4 line system and a CCV catch can My sensors are 2 years old or less and my exhaust tube is clean. I should mention I put in a purple CPS.
After these mods, I averaged 17.3-17.6 MPG overall (city/hwy) for several years, however, within the last few months, my mpg has dropped to an overall average of 14.3-14.4. I have checked everything visually and monitored internals using Torque and Forscan. Nothing seems amiss.
A friend suggested I might have plugged tank filters, so I dropped the tank, installed the filter removal, and bypass mods with an external filter. Both the internal tank filters and the fuel bowl filters were pretty clean. It doesn't cackle anymore, but the mileage is still crap.
I've run out of ideas. Thoughts?
