I removed this "MAGIC AIRE" heater from a 1956 F-350, but I don't think it is correct. I put in a proper "Fresh Air" unit to replace it.
I think it might be a car heater, but it does have the extra oval tube on top of the plenum for defroster hoses? And the TEMP and CONTROL unit is for bolting on the bottom of a dash, like it could be for a truck dash or at least as a dealer installed option.
Any clues as to what model/year it might be it might be?

Some others have guessed that. I have a 1952 Passenger Car FORD manual and it shows using a similar heater, but does not have the same Defroster diverter on top.
Maybe a FORD dealer option heater since all the controls, including the Blower push button switch, are integrated on the little control panel?
