No but I use Rotella in my John Deere! Looks like the JD oil is made by Chevron. It doesn't have the Ford standard on it but it is CK-4. Not much help I know.
You can run 5w40 or 10w30 year round in most all climates. Not sure if it would hurt anything but JD oil is not WSS-M2C171-F1. Here is Ford’s “approved” list. https://www.fcsdchemicalsandlubrican...SSM2C171F1.pdf
Anybody use this in their PS? I use it in my tractors, and I think it’s premium oil for sure - and it’s 15w - 40 weight.
Since I usually have it around by the gallons, just wondering.
I recall seeing a oil analysis on this oil and the zinc and phosphorous looked low in order to be both diesel and gas engine compatible and these type of oils are not approved by Ford. I wouldn't use it until you can confirm it has ~1k PPM of both zinc and phosphorous in order to be good for the PSD. For some reason Fords PSD upper valve train needs the extra phosphorous to prevent excellerated wear
