2001 f350 7.3 6speed 4x4. Getting a horrible “death wobble” when hitting a bump or pothole around 20 mph.
Is the track bar the most likely problem? Jacked it up and couldn’t find any play anywhere in the front end but I have very little experience. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
I have a 2015 F250 4X4 that gets a wobble when hitting pot holes at 50+ mph. I replaced the steering damper with a Bilstien model that "fixed' it for now, but I am told that's just fixing the symptom, not the cause. My track bar and other components seem fine as well. My next step is to look at wheel bearings.
If you find the cause, I'd be interested in hearing what it was.
Get a LARGE crow bar and use it to try and move all of the front end components. Whatever moves, replace it. Typically the track bar is the culprit but check the ball joints and the tie rod ends.
