I’m looking at purchasing a crew cab f150
this week. I looked at two trucks today. Both had an odd sound from the passenger side engine bay. Heres a start up of one of the trucks. The noise is almost a crackling sound. What do you guys think? It starts around 15 seconds. It went away within seconds of ending the video.
Sorry 5.0 is the engine. What mileage? Mine currently has a slight exhaust leak from the passenger side and goes away after about 20-30 seconds after startup. It is also a 5.0.

I have had a few fords and most had the exhaust leak from the manifolds but to me that’s not what it sounded like.
Let me know if that works.
listening to it again I guess it could be a small exhaust leak. It did quit within seconds after I quit recording. I wanted to look deeper but I guess I should of kept the video running

My 2013 5.0 has that exact sound. It has 107k. Not sure when I first noticed it but so far hasn’t been a problem. You are correct that sound is different than my exhaust leak.
