Right rear brake dragging!!

I have a 2005 f350 DRW cab & chassis
I just taken back this truck from my now non existing crew and god knows what they have done to it ?
probably some drunken dukes of hazard shenanigans?!!
just can’t get this brake not too drag

new caliper Napa

new rotors / old ones where extremely worn on one side

new inner and outer wheel bearings / took Napa four times to get right ones so I have taken it apart three times or more lost track

new brake pads/ Napa sold me wrong ones three times / second attempt I tried putting on wrong pads I couldn’t get caliper on so kind of messed up ring on piston on caliper!!

See it on the top piston

okay so I notice some wobble on wheel during one of my many times working on truck and started thinking maybe it was a bent axel? Remember I thought my crew was doing stupid drunk stuff with truck ! I took it to local shop and they concurred it was axel now new axel still grinding !

new brake lines both sides all the way over to center connection I had help this day and got a good bleed on brakes had trouble with right side but eventually it starting squirting good when open still grinding !

in desperation and frustration and my remaining helper advice which he claims he was a BMW technician I took the parking brake completely out just in case that was the problem which it wasn’t!
I did re-grease slid pins and it’s still grinding!
Actually sounds worse
I forgot but I also did the differential oil which I probably need more since I take axel out every other week!

any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated

have a great weekend

andy

That tear on the top piston in your picture could be the root cause of your dragging issue. Water intrusion which leads to rust and it gets in a bind when attempting to retract. It also looks as if you have a deformity on the piston (hammer or pry bar) from opening up to make room for fresh pads. With a mark like that, that piston may so be cracked. Look at it under a bright light. If it were mine, I would rebuild or replace that caliper assembly.

What does a carrier bearing have to do with a dragging brake caliper?

The differential carrier bearing not the driveline carrier bearing just sounded like the brakes dragging

That's funny because the driveshaft carrier bearing on my new truck sounded like a rear brake dragging.

That must have been a bad differential carrier bearing. I hope you're rebuilding the rear end.

I did check the driveshaft carrier bearing actually put phone on frame and did a video while driving!
not it
might be just buying a whole new rebuilt rear end
I live in the keys and don’t have many choices on shops who specializes in this kind work and am super busy with work
the truck went through saltwater during hurricane Irma helping people out and clearing roads out
Damn storm still effecting me
