Also my dash lights nor my tail lights work. The previous owner took the stock lights off the back when he took the stock metal bed off and put a 2x6 wood flat bed on it and hooked up some jank *** trailer lights and installed a little black box that is supposed to control the rear lights but don't. I've checked every fuse twice!!!! Not one fuse is blown nothing so why did it all of a sudden quit working?
If the previous owner did his own installation/wiring job, grab a test light and start testing at the connections that he made at the harness. For the dash lights, that's a separate problem. Might want to check the frame grounds, especially if both problems occured at the same time.
Dave.......They worked at first (2 months ago) when I got it then all of a sudden as we were driving a guy pulled up next to me and told me I have no tail lights nor break lights. Shortly after maybe a day or so the speedometer light went out the gas gauge, bright lights, blinkers all work u simply cannot see the cluster at night without turning on the interior lights or shining a light at the cluster. I'm over it I've had this truck 2 months now and already going through this. The window motors are going out needs new tires, to fix it is more then what I paid for it. I only paid 3 grand for it and already needing MAJOR work done. The motor has 200 grand almost and sucks gas like it's going out of style even before the plug problem the motor was shaking almost like one of the motor mounts are bad? IDFK. I'm waiting on the salesman that sold it to me to call me back today so hopefully I can just trade it back in to him and either get my $1700 I've paid on it so far or trade this in for a different vehicle equal or lesser value but I don't know if I trust the dealership now due to the fact that when I took it to midas to see what was wrong with the motor and breaks the mechanic called me into the work area and showed me the zip tie that had the coil pack secured rather then the screws that hold it down the same coil pack that goes to the plug that blew. It's hard to do anything when I work 7 12s for the next 3 months at least. I don't trust the truck for the wife to drive it without me being there. I couldn't live with myself if I let her drive it alone in it's current condition and something happened to her. I wish they would have told me these trucks from 99 to 05 I believe are notorious for blowing plugs.
