So next year we order the retirement SRW Supercab F350 7.3 to pull our fifth wheel full time. It will be a 2023 (hopefully the supply shortage will be closer to normal) Anyhow I seen where we have a choice of 11,400 and 10000. Thinking of going with the 11,400 just to get a little more payload and according to our insurance guy its only a few bucks different.
But if I dont click either the 10,000 or the 11,400 what gvrw will I get? Is there another GVWR or would it just default to one of the others?
If insurance is about the same is there a reason to not get the 11,400?
I was able to order my 2020 F350 Crew Cab Long bed, 7.3, 4.30 axle, 4x4 truck with a 11,900 lbs GVWR. It had snow plow / camper package, FX4, 18” All terrain tires & 5th wheel prep. It was a well optioned Lariat and had 4169 lbs payload. Good luck with your retirement truck & travels.
The assigned GVWR depends on cab/box configuration and the tires. My SC short box with all season tires is 11,300, with all terrain tires 11,500, with a long box 11,800. Just know that the 10,000 lb option doesn't change the truck, just the sticker.
