Hello everyone,
The Ford Pass app, well, it sucks big time. I have a 2021 F-350 and use a Samsung S20. I've always had intermittent issues with it but now it won't work at all. I've tried unloading/reloading the app and turning my phone off and on. At this point it won't turn the truck off/on or unlock/lock. I'm a little surprised Ford released a feature like this with so many bugs in it and even more surprised they haven't fixed it yet considering I can find the same complaints going back years.
I know a lot of people have issues with this app so I started this thread (I did search the forums and found quite a few threads but no real solutions after pages and pages of reading) so people could share any solutions they may have found. I'd hate to have to take it to the dealer for this problem but I will if I can't find a solution because it is super annoying not having these features work. So, anyone get the Ford Pass app to work the way it is supposed to consistently?

I have no issue on my iPhone 10XR
It is an APP on your phone, so most likely the dealer won't have a clue about how to fix it.
The APP not working on your phone may be just that the APP itself. Have you updated to the latest and greatest OS and APP? Have you called Tech Support for the APP?

My use of the app is not often, hardly ever use the remote features. When I have though, it generally has worked. The exception has been recently. The remote unlock won't work, but the lock does. I was considering making a call to inquire about it tomorrow. Sometimes these glitches come with recent updates.
My issues are typically poor cell phone signal coverage. In the beginning I was have trouble with the app. It required deleting my entire profile and starting over. Since then my only issues are crappy Verizon cellular signals, the consequence of living in the boonies. When there is good cell service the remote start and lock/unlock work good.
No, I haven't called tech support yet. That is usually a time consuming and frustrating experience so I figured I would create a thread so people can relate their solutions (if any exist) to the issues. That will be my next step though and I will share anything I find out.

Where you park your truck, is it in good cell phone coverage? For your truck not your phone.
Is it always in one area or just random places it doesn't work?
When it doesn't work are there a lot of LED lights around?
Just trying to narrow down some things most folks don't think about.

I'm pretty sure the same people created fordpass app also were in charge of death wobble. Neither has been fixed properly for years.

Only had my truck for 16 days, but so far, the FordPass app has worked well. Both my iPhone 11 Pro and the Sync3 are updated to the latest versions.
I will also say that I have called FordPass twice now, once before my truck even arrived, and again this past Friday to find out about my FordPass Reward points. Both times when calling them someone answered quickly and was helpful. The first time I called (again, before my truck was even built) I had entered my VIN into the app as soon as I got my build day with the VIN and it took it, but then closer to my build date I removed the vehicle from the account. When I tried to enter the VIN again it would not take it, so I called them. The lady told me that when people are experiencing problems (such as yours?) the first thing they tell customers to do is to remove the vehicle from the app, then delete the app, reboot the phone, reinstall the app and then re-enter the VIN. I haven't needed to do that yet, but if I start to have issues this is what I will do before calling...

Hi , it is strange how some people have many problems and others , like myself , that have no issues . I use mine all the time . My app is on my Samsung s21 Ultra with AT&T and my truck is a 2019 f350 cclb king ranch 6.7

The current issue, although not the same as the OP's, is odd, and although I rarely use the remote features, knowing they aren't functioning has me wanting to figure it out. Why wil it lock but not unlock. The one thing I haven't tried is removing the truck from the app.
Edit- Took a drive a few hours after posting this, when I got back both lock and unlock were working again.
When I first got the truck it worked great. Within a couple of months I started getting a delay and it might not work here or there off and on but it always cleared up and worked. Usually would start working after I drove the truck like somebody else has mentioned, but now that ins't working.
I'm going to remove the truck, then remove the app, restart the phone, reinstall the app and add the truck back in and see if that clears it up. Thanks for the suggestion! If that doesn't work I'll call in to Ford Pass support. Either way I will update the thread.

FORDPASS SUPPORT IS CRAP
I purchased a used 2020 Ford F150. Once I download the app, enter the vin, and then press "Activate Vehicle" is says "Activation Currently Unavailable - Another user is currently in the activation process causing any new activations to be unavailable". I have called Fordpass a t least 7 times now. They always have me do the same things (master reset a LOT), then they say we have to elevate the case and someone will call me in 3-5 business days (which NO ONE HAS EVER CALLED ME BACK). Then after 6 or 7 business days I CALL THEM BACK and we start the SAME thing all over again. I have been trying since April 9th 2022 to activate my fordpass and still no one will call me back. I took my vehicle in to the dealership and had the service department look at it. It STILL is not working. Their techs can see my system. They can see my fuel level, oil live, mileage, etc. I CANNOT be the first or ONLY person to experience this. It cannot be this difficult to solve.
My experience with the Ford Pass on our Escape has been pretty good with the S10+. No issues with doing the remote start, lock/unlock. The only issue we had was when we first bought the car, we had to drop it off to the dealer a few days later to have them do the window tint. It showed that the car was parked at a fast food place for 30 minutes. I called the dealer and they said that the tint shop had it. I called the tint shop and they said that they were waiting for delivery. Turned out, the driver had to stop and take a phone call (tint shop says no phone calls in customer vehicles while driving). According to Ford, the app does not track the vehicle while moving, only when it comes to a stop and is parked. So tint shop driver stopped for 10 minutes to talk and then drove back to the shop. Hopefully it will work out okay on my truck when it finally gets built.
Bonehead1!--Did you check with the dealer that you bought your truck from. It may be that the original owner still has the truck in their Ford Pass system and won't let you add it.
