I just picked up this 60 F100 last week. The prior owner had it for over 30 years and died before he finished the restoration he started a few years ago. The frame has been sandblasted and painted. The body has had replacement panels welded in and “painted” (backyard job but it is 3 mostly matching colors). The motor is an unknown 302 with a 4 spd toploader. Rear end is a 9” posi out of a bronco. Appears to be a hood from a 59. Everything else is a mystery.
needs a seat
gas tank and lines (runs off of a small tank under the hood)
front brakes hooked up
4spd sticks in gear so maybe some adjustments
wiring clean up under the hood
after that stuff is squared away, I want to add a jag IFS dropout if I can find one, lower it a bit and just drive it as is while working on some small stuff. I have no illusions about this becoming a show truck 😆
That looks like a survivor. Does it run and drive? Good place to launch your project from!
it runs and drives, just with a lawnmower tank strapped down under the hood and the trans sticks in gear sometimes. But I was able to drive it on and off the car trailer and back and forth in the driveway.
New gas tank is on the way right now, just picked up a $20 squarebody seat to sit on instead of the milk crate I am using. That should be bolted in shortly.
Did you order a factory style tank that mounts behind the seat? If so where did you order from? I ordered one from LMC the first week of July and it was on backorder for 9-10 weeks. Just called them last week and they said it would be another 10-12 weeks!

I ordered the factory behind the seat tank from CJs Pony Parts. Should be here soon. The sending unit was back ordered.
Tank came today. Ordered from CJs on the 7th. Got here on the 11th.
now how does this tank mount? I am still waiting on my shop manual to get here and I don’t see straps or mounts in my parts boxes.
